Bilingual pop, bridging Latin rhythm, tropical warmth, and global dance-floor energy — built for the club and the summer alike.
Des December is an independent bilingual pop artist fusing Latin pop, reggaetón, tropical house, afrobeats, and electro-pop into anthems that move fluidly between Spanish and English — between heritage and horizon.
Born to Dominican and Puerto Rican parents, Des grew up on the pulse of two islands and one American city — bachata seeping under the door, reggaetón coming out of every open car window, the church choir on Sunday. Music was the first language everyone in the family spoke fluently.
Teen pregnancy at seventeen. A stretch of homelessness that most people never see coming and never talk about after. She kept a notebook of lyrics through all of it. She earned her nursing license while raising her children, working overnight shifts and writing hooks between rounds. Nothing about the path was owed to her — she built it.
Today, Des December releases her music independently — polished vocal layering over deep synth basslines and glossy pop hooks. Six singles are in active rotation, opening with the sunlit surrender of Ven Aquí and stretching all the way to the electro-charged pulse of her latest release with Quinetik. She still works as a nurse. She still tucks her kids in. And she is, quite simply, only getting started.
I write for the woman on the last train home from the twelve-hour shift, and for the girl she used to be. Both of them deserve a song they can dance to.

Des December writes about love, movement, and the long walk home. Her sound blends the golden warmth of the Caribbean with the sharp edge of a Boston winter — sunset melodies wrapped around a synth bassline that hits like a heartbeat.
She releases independently. She books her own studio time. She sings her hooks in two languages because she thinks in two languages. This is what an independent bilingual pop artist looks like when she isn't waiting for permission.
